Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 c Boiling water
  • 1 c Quick-cooking oats
  • 1/2 c Butter
  • 1 c Brown sugar
  • 1 c Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 1/3 c Flour
  • 1 ts Baking soda
  • 1/2 ts Nutmeg
  • 1/2 ts Salt
  • 1 ts Cinnamon
TOPPING
  • 1/4 c Soft butter
  • 1/2 c Sugar
  • 1/4 c Evaporated milk
  • 1 c Coconut
  • 1/2 ts Vanilla

Directions:

pour water over oats. Lay butter on top. Cover; let stand 20 minutes. Add remaining ingredients except topping. Bake in a greased 9x13 inch pan at 350 for 30-35 minutes.
 
Combine topping ingredients and spread on top of cake. Place in broiler until browned.
