Oat and Dried Fruit Cereal with Honey And Hogurt

  • 1 c Old-fashioned oats
  • 1 c Plain low-fat yogurt
  • 1 c Mixed diced dried fruits, such as dates, prunes, figs and apples
  • 1/2 c Chopped toasted hazelnuts or almonds
  • 2 tb Honey
  • 4 1/2 ts Fresh lemon juice
  • Additional yogurt (optional)
  • Additional honey (optional)


"This Swiss staple known as Birchermuesli can be a healthful breakfast or snack.
Combine oats, 1/2 cup yogurt, dried fruits, nuts, honey and lemon juice in medium bowl; stir to blend. Refrigerate at least 1 hour and up to 6 hours.
