Oak Alley Restaurant Bread Pudding

Bread Puddings

Ingredients:

  • 8 c Sugar
  • 10 c Milk
  • 3/4 c Raisins
  • 10 Po-boy loaves or hoagies
  • 10 Eggs
  • 1/2 c Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 lb Butter
WHISKEY SAUCE
  • 1 c White sugar
  • 2 c Water
  • 1/4 lb Butter
  • 1/2 c Whiskey

Directions:

For the pudding 1. Mix all ingredients except bread. Break bread into pieces, about 1 inch in diameter.
 
2. Mix into bowl with hands. Pour into a 9 X 24 inch baking pan. Bake at 350° for 1-1/2 hours.
 
To Make the Sauce: 1. Boil water, sugar and butter for 30 minutes. Add whiskey.
