Ingredients:

  • 3/4 c Flour -- sifted
  • 1/4 ts Baking powder
  • 1/4 ts Salt
  • 2 tb Cocoa
  • 3/4 c Sugar
  • 1/2 c Shortening
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 ts Vanilla
  • 1/2 c Walnuts
  • 1 pk Miniature marshmallows
FROSTING
  • 1/2 c Brown sugar
  • 1/4 c Water
  • 2 Squares baking chocolate
  • 3 tb Butter
  • 2 tb Vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c Powdered sugar

Directions:

Combine flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa, and sugar. Blend in shortening, eggs, and teaspoon vanilla. Add walnuts. Spread in greased baking pan and bake at 350^ for 20 minutes. Take from oven; sprinkle miniature marshmallows over the top, keeping away from sides of pan. Put back into oven for 3 minutes. For the frosting, combine brown sugar, water, chocolate. Boil for 3 minutes; take from burner and add butter, vanilla, and powdered sugar (enough to make smooth icing). Spread over marshmallows and let cool. Cut in squares.
