German Layered Apple Cake

Ingredients:

  • 6 c Peeled cored and sliced apples
  • 1 pk German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 ts Cinnamon
  • 1 1/ c water
  • 1/4 c Butter, softened
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/2 c Nuts, pecan or walnut
FROSTING
  • 1 pk (3 oz) of cream cheese
  • 4 tb Butter softened
  • 3 c Confectioners sugar

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350*. Grease lightly a 13x9 pan. Layer 1/2 apples evenly in pan. In large bowl, mix dry cake mix, cinnamon, water, butter, and eggs on low until smooth. Then beat 2 min. on high. Stir in nuts. Pour 1/2 batter evenly over apples and repeat layers. Bake at 350* for 40-50 min. or until tooghpick comes out clean. Cool in pan. For frosting: In small bowl blend frostind ingredients until smooth. Frost top of cake and enjoy! Serves 12.
