Gaelic Steak #2

Home | Recipes | G

  • 1/2 lb Sirloin steak per person
  • Garlic butter
  • 1 Shot of Irish whiskey per steak
  • Cream
  • Salt & pepper
  • Watercress

Rub each side of steak with garlic butter and season with salt and pepper. Place on a hot griddle or in a large heavy skillet over high heat. Cook on each side for 3 minutes for rare steak, 4 minutes for medium and 5 minutes for well-done. Pour whiskey over hot steak and set alight. When flames die down, put steaks on hot serving plates. Add a little cream to the pan juices and cook over a fierce heat for a minute or so. Pour sauce over steaks and serve, garnished with sprigs of watercress.
