Fauxe Boursin

  • 8 oz Cream cheese
  • 1 tb Fresh Thyme -- finely
  • Chopped
  • 2 tb Lemon juice
  • 1 Garlic clove -- minced
  • 1 1/2 ts Fresh tarragon -- finely
  • Chopped
  • 2 Shallots -- finely chopped
  • 1/4 c Parsley -- finely chopped
  • 1 tb Chives -- finely chopped


Cream the cheese with the lemon juice. Add the garlic, the shallots and the herbs. Pack into a crock and chill until ready to serve. Or, mold as follows: line an empty 8-oz margarine tub with plastic wrap, pack in the cheese and chill. When ready to serve, remove from tub, peel off wrap and garnish on a plate. Serving Ideas : Serve with unflavored cracker such as Carr's water wafers
