Eastern Sauce - Southern Food Version

Ingredients:

  • 2 c Cider vinegar
  • 1 tb Peppercorns
  • 1 ts Celery seeds
  • 1 ts Salt
  • 1 tb Hot pepper flakes
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 1 c Water

Directions:

Preparation: Combine in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer uncovered for an hour. Strain to remove the peppercorns if you like.
