Ingredients:

MIX INGREDIENTS
  • 9 c Sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 tb Salt
  • 2 c Crisco shortening
  • 3 tb Baking powder
  • 1/4 c Sugar
FOR BISCUITS
  • 3 c Mix
  • 2/3 c Milk
FOR PANCAKES
  • 3 c Mix
  • 1 c Milk
  • 2 Eggs
FOR CHEESE BISCUITS
  • 3 c Mix
  • 2/3 c Milk
  • 1/2 c Grated American cheese
  • 1 ts Paprika
FOR MUFFINS
  • 3 c Mix
  • 1 c Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tb Sugar

Directions:

Stir baking powder, salt & sugar into flour. Sift together 3 times into large mixing bowl. Cut in shortening with pastry blender until mix is consistency of cornmeal. Store in a tightly covered container at room temperature. To measure mix, pile it lightly into a standard cup & level off with a spatula. BISCUITS; Stir ingredients & roll as for other biscuits. Bake at 450 until done. PANCAKES: Stir ingredients together & grill as usual. CHEESE BISCUITS: Mix ingredients, bake as for biscuits. MUFFINS: Mix & bake at 425.
