[<$2.50 Serving] All-Dressed Spaghetti

Ingredients:

  • 2 tb Vegetable oil
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 1 1/4 c Mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 c Pepperoni, sliced
  • 1 Sweet green pepper, chopped
  • 1 1/2 ts Dried oregano
  • 14 oz Canned tomato sauce
  • 1/4 ts Salt
  • 1/4 ts Pepper
  • 3/4 lb Spaghetti

Directions:

In skillet, heat oil over medium heat; cook onion, mushrooms, pepperoni, green pepper and oregano, stirring often, for 5 minutes or until onion is softened.
 
Add tomato sauce, salt and pepper; cook for 3 minutes or until boiling.
 
Meanwhile, in large pot of boiling salted water, cook spaghetti for 8-10 minutes or until tender but firm. Drain well and return to pot.
 
Add sauce; toss to coat well.
 
Per serving: About 605 calories, 20 g protein, 24 g fat, 77 g carbohydrate, very high in fibre, good source iron.
